The Dying Day

Through this journey, we have all lost someone, whether they be close or distant there is a sense of grief that is impacting us all. This is a response.

Stark winter trees

Naked, brittle and exposed

Soft light with sunset hues

The dying day.

The beauty of your love

Your connection everlasting

Even while your time here is severed

The hearts you leave behind broken

The reaper has multiplied

He stalks every corner

A mass exodus

Leaving us keening

The glowing pinks and reds

Your final spectacular show

A celebration of the glory of your time here

A display to ensure we do not forget

Your legacy lies in the people

The stories they will tell

Of your laughter and your smile

Your adventures and your antics

Your legendary presence

We are grateful for the time you shared

On the coldest days when the trees are but skeletons

The soft light still reaches through & rekindles the warmth within

We will miss you, but we are you

Onwards and through the night we will go.
